Your starting point for implementing a solid backup strategy in Kubernetes using Open-Source tooling
We are happy to bring you our latest Whitepaper: Implementing the 2+1 Backup Strategy for Kubernetes Environments!
In this whitepaper we talk about how you can utilize open-source tooling to implement a 2+1 back-up strategy, providing multiple layers of redundancy, significantly reducing the risk of total data loss and ensuring business continuity.
There are various Open Source solutions for implementing your own Kubernetes backup-strategy available. We have divided these in two categories: General Back-up Solutions, which provide generic back-up for storage systems, and system specialized back-ups that are purpose made back-up solutions, for example for Databases such as PostgreSQL.
A general back-up solution is capable of creating a back-up for nearly volume in Kubernetes. In order to achieve this, there are multiple Open-Source solutions available. We will look at some commonly used solutions within the Kubernetes eco-system in our whitepaper. In addition to general backup strategies, it is crucial to implement system-specific backup tooling for databases like PostgreSQL and MySQL. These tools are designed to address the unique requirements and intricacies of database management, ensuring data integrity, consistency, and recovery.
